Privacy Policy
What we do with your information.
Last updated 26 October 2026
We collect what we need to run the service and nothing else. We don't sell your details, we don't build a profile on you, and you can ask us for a copy or ask us to delete it at any time.
If we've contacted your business about our services, there's a separate notice explaining where we got your details and how to stop us: privacy notice for businesses we contact.

What we collect, and why
If you get in touch
Your name, business name, phone number, email address, and whatever you tell us about your trade and your area. We use it to answer you and to work out whether we can help. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our service.
If you reply to one of our adverts on Facebook or Instagram, Meta passes us what you enter in its form: usually your name, business name, phone number, email address, trade and town. You asked us to get in touch, so we call you on the number you gave us. If we arrange to meet, we also keep the date, time and place of the meeting and any notes from it, with the rest of your enquiry.
If you call us and we cannot answer, the call goes on to our phone provider, Twilio. If you are calling from a mobile, it sends you one text to say sorry and ask what you need, and you can leave a voicemail. Your number, any reply you text back and your voicemail (with a written transcript of it) come to us so that we can call you back. We keep the record of the missed call for 30 days, and voicemails for no longer than it takes to deal with your call. That text is only about the call you just made: we never use it for marketing.
If you use the free rank check on our website, we run a live Google Maps search for your trade and town and show you the result: where you appear, and the names, ratings and review counts of the three businesses Google shows first, exactly as Google publishes them. We do not keep those results beyond the day. The check itself keeps nothing about you: your trade and town are sent to our search provider to run the search, and the business name you type is only used to find you in the results. If you then ask for your full report, we keep your name, business name, phone number and email address with the result of your check, so that we can prepare the report, email it to you and call you about it.
If you buy a Google visibility report
At checkout Stripe collects your name, email address and phone number and passes them to us. Straight after, our form asks for your business name as it shows on Google Maps, your trade and the main jobs you want, the town you work from and other towns you want work in, your business postcode if you choose to give it, your website and the phone number on your listing. We use them to find your business on Google, run the searches the report is built from (where you appear on Google Maps across your area, how often people search for your services, your Google listing, your details on directory websites and the basics of your website), and email the report to you. We may call you once about it, on the number you gave. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you. If you later become a customer, the report becomes part of your customer record.
If you become a customer
The above, plus your trading address, the areas you cover, your services and prices, photos of your work, your existing website and listings if you have them, and the details of any accounts you give us manager access to. We use all of it to deliver the service you've paid for. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you.
Payment information
Your card is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We receive a record that a payment succeeded or failed, the last four digits, the card type, and your billing email. At checkout Stripe also collects your name, business name, phone number, billing address, your main service and the town you work from, and your website if you have one, and passes them to us so we can call you, agree your area and check where you stand on Google. Lawful basis: performance of our contract, and our legal obligation to keep accounting records.
Performance data about your business
Once you're a customer we collect ranking positions, search impressions, clicks, calls and website visits from Google Business Profile, Google Search Console and your website. Most of this is about your business rather than about a person, but where it includes personal data we use it to run and report on your service. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you.
If you visit this website
Our hosting produces standard server logs, which include IP addresses, your browser requests fonts and icons from third-party services, and we count visits anonymously with Umami on our own server (no cookies, nothing stored on your device, and you can switch it off). There's detail on all of that in our cookies and tracking page. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site running and secure.
Who we share it with
Only the services we need to run the business. Each one handles data on our behalf under a contract, and none of them are allowed to use it for their own purposes.
| Who | What they get | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Name, business name, email, phone, billing address, payment details | Taking card payments |

| Your business information and listing content | Your Google Business Profile and search performance | |
| Apple | Your business information | Your Apple Maps listing |
| Directory sites | Your business name, address, phone and services | The listings we create for you |
| Meta (Facebook and Instagram) | What you enter in a form on one of our adverts | Passing your enquiry to us |
| Twilio | Your phone number, and any text or voicemail you leave when we miss your call | Texting you back when we miss your call, and taking voicemail |
| DataForSEO | The trade and town you check, and for a report you buy, your business name, website and phone number | Running the Google searches for the rank check on our website and for reports |
| Google (calendar) | Your business name and the date, time and place of a meeting with you | Our own diary, so we arrive on time |

Some of this information is published deliberately — that's the entire point of a listing. Your business name, address, phone number and services are meant to be found.
We'll also share information where the law requires it, for example with HMRC or in response to a valid legal request.
We never sell your data, and we never pass it to other marketing companies.
Where your data is held
Some of the companies above are based outside the UK, mainly in the United States and the EU. Where data leaves the UK it's protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires — usually the UK's adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that go nowhere: deleted 12 months after our last contact with you.
- Reports you buy: the report and the details you gave for it are deleted 12 months after we send it, unless you become a customer. The payment record is kept as below.
- Customer records: kept for as long as you're a customer, then for 12 months afterwards in case you come back.
- Invoices and payment records: six years after the end of the tax year, because HMRC requires it.
- Server logs: a short rolling period set by our host, typically under 30 days.
- Backups: our backups are deleted on a rolling basis, so a deleted record is gone from them within about 15 months.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete it, where we don't have a legal reason to keep it.
- Stop or limit how we use it.
- Send it to you, or to someone else, in a portable format.
- Stop using it for direct marketing — this one is absolute, just say so and we stop.
Email hello@morecalls.uk and we'll deal with it within one month. It's free.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data
Tell us first and we'll try to put it right. If you're still not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. You can go to them directly — you don't need our permission.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything significant we'll update the date at the top, and we'll email customers where the change actually affects them.
